Cockroach Jantar Party (CJP) has decided to withdraw its agitation which was going on at Jantar Mantar for the past few weeks. The decision came following the third round of talks between the government and the CJP. Notably, the decision to withdraw the protest came hours after the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post.
The announcement to call off the protest came in a joint government-CJP press conference this evening. The CJP spokespersons said the government has assured them that police cases filed against students would be withdrawn, no action would be taken against them in future, and maximum compensation as per rules and regulations would be given to the families of students who died by suicide over the NEET paper leak.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das announced that since all three demands have been accepted, with immediate effect, the dharna at Jantar Mantar has been withdrawn. He also appealed to all protesters gathered at the site to peacefully return to their homes.

The protest was called over the NEET-UG exam paper leak and continued for just over 5 weeks. The key demand of the protesters was that the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign.
