Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday, July 25. His resignation came amidst the Cockroach Janta Party’s ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. However, his resignation may not lead to the end of the protest.
Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation was the key demand of the CJP protest. However, now CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has listed the 3 other demands as well.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, in a press briefing, said that families of the students who committed suicide receive compensation of Rs 1 crore. He also said that action should be taken against Delhi Police personnel. They are also demanding that no action should be taken against the protesters following the violence on July 20.

Talks between government and CJP are set to take place later on Saturday. This will be the third round of talks between the two.
However, with the CJP now boosted by their key demand being met, don’t look like in the mood to negotiate. With such an attitude, one wonders whether the protest is actually serious about education reforms and improving examination system in the country.
Notably, government has already taken steps about the paper leak issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing earlier this week that fast track courts will be set up to ensure swift and stringent punishment in such cases when a question paper gets leaked. The cabinet has already cleared a proposal that there will be 10 years jail term in such cases for the guilty.
