Three people, including the director of a coaching institute, have been arrested after the violent chaos outside the coaching centre of Faisal Khan, known as “Khan Sir”. The incident took place in Patna’s Kadamkuan area on Tuesday, June 2, night.
It was alleged that multiple bullets were fired at Khan’s institute but that could not be confirmed. The city SP Office said, “We received information around 10.10 pm on Tuesday about stone-pelting and damage to property at Khan Global Coaching Institute under the jurisdiction of Kadamkuan police station. A police team was immediately sent to the spot and an investigation was launched.”
The 3 people arrested in the case are Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu coaching institute, a competitor of Khan, Prince Gaurav, and Abhishek. They were produced before a local court and remanded in judicial custody on June 3.
Even though Khan Sir claimed that 8-10 rounds were fired at his institute, police has so far not confirmed it, and hasn’t found any evidence of such firing.
Commenting on the incident, Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) K Sharma said, “It was a case of physical assault in which a guard was injured. He is currently undergoing treatment. Further action is being taken after recording statements from the victim and local residents.”
However, one thing is clear, coaching has become such a lucrative business in India now that the directors of coaching institutes won’t hesitate before using violence or before leveling false charges against each other.
Meanwhile, details from the investigation are awaited.
