Last week, a deadly attack took place in Karachi, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of at least 3 Pakistani rangers. Taking responsibility for the attack, the group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar said that nine of their members took part in the attack where a member rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers in the port city of Karachi. There was an intense gun ba Islamabad accuses the Taliban government of sheltering terrorists behind a surge in attacks, particularly the TTP, which has waged a violent campaign against Pakistan for years.ttle following that in which 3 of Pakistan’s rangers were killed and 4 others left injured.
After blaming India for the attack, of course, Pakistan has launched strikes in Afghanistan after the Karachi attack. Pakistan claims it is targeting terrorists with these attacks, but the casualties are mostly civilians, including women and children.
Afghanistan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that Pakistan’s attacks resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians.
As many as 35 people have been killed in Afghanistan in Pakistan’s attacks since the Karachi attack. This is the latest flashpoint between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The two countries have been at loggerheads for long with Pakistan blaming Afghanistan for all their internal problems (along with India of course).
Islamabad accuses the Taliban government of sheltering terrorists, particularly the TTP, but this just reminds us of Hillary Clinton’s statement, “You can’t keep snakes in your backyard and expect them only to bite your neighbors. You know, eventually those snakes are going to turn on whoever has them in the backyard.”
Pakistan has shielded, supported, and even funded terrorists as a state policy, after all, who can forget Osama Bin Laden living under Pakistan’s patronage. Now when the chickens have come home to roost, Pakistan’s government attacks innocent Afghans to save face at home.
