In Afghanistan, the Taliban government has once again denied the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan, and in reaction to the remarks of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in this regard, said that he has relied only on information provided by Pakistan.
At the same time, the Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid says that they welcome the efforts of any country, including the United States, which mediates between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but according to him, Pakistan started the war.
Mr. Mujahid says, “The Islamic Emirate views positively any mediation by the United States or any other country between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and also appreciates the efforts of those countries that have previously made mediation efforts.”
The important point is that the Pakistani side is making accusations and they started the war and have made efforts for insecurity and this is in no one’s interest. The Islamic Emirate previously considered the path of negotiations as the solution and still believes in it. In this, if any country, including America mediates, the Islamic Emirate has no problem, considers it good and beneficial.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington is aware of Islamabad’s concerns about the threat of terrorism from Afghanistan to Pakistan and is ready to play a constructive role in this regard. He said he had also seen some of the attacks that Pakistan mentioned in this regard.
In response to a question at a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Atlanta, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Pakistan is concerned about attacks that are supported from Afghan soil. He said Pakistan believes that the Taliban have not taken enough measures to prevent these attacks.
The US Secretary of State added that they have heard these concerns of Pakistan and are ready to play an effective role in this regard. He said. “Pakistan is concerned about terrorist attacks that are supported from Afghan soil. Pakistan believes that the Taliban government has not taken enough measures to prevent these attacks, so they took matters into their own hands and took actions.
We have heard these concerns of Pakistan and do not want Pakistan to fall victim to terrorism. If we can play an effective role in this regard, we are ready for it, but you know that we do not have close relations with the Taliban government.”
Mr. Rubio also said that he has seen the attacks to which Pakistan refers, and that they are against terrorism anywhere and against anyone.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, after Mr. Rubio’s remarks, said in a statement sent to the media in this regard, it welcomes “any sincere efforts by friendly countries, including the United States, that are made to facilitate talks with Afghanistan. But meaningful talks must
be accompanied by a commitment by the Afghan Taliban authorities to take practical, sustainable and verifiable actions against TTP/FaK, BLA/FaH and other armed groups that operate from Afghan soil.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has emphasized in the statement that “it is ready for constructive engagement, but this engagement must have tangible results that address Islamabad’s legitimate security concerns.”
Mujahid: Marco Rubio’s information is one-sided. In Afghanistan, the Taliban government’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, in reaction to these remarks of the US Secretary of State, said in an interview with private television News that Mr. Rubio’s information is ‘one-sided’ and according to him, he has relied on information provided by Pakistan.
Mr. Mujahid added that Afghanistan values mediation between Kabul and Islamabad, but according to him, the fact that Pakistan was the initiator of the clashes should also be taken into account. The spokesman of the Taliban government once again emphasized that Afghan soil is not used against any country.
But Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) organizes its attacks in Pakistan from Afghanistan and is supported by the Taliban government. The Taliban government strongly rejects this claim and considers the activities of armed groups against the Pakistani government to be Pakistan’s internal matter.
Mr. Mujahid also said that despite many efforts, the major reason for their failure to reach an agreement with Pakistan is that Pakistani officials, according to him, insist on their failed policies and are not ready to move forward in a peaceful way.
