In a dastardly act, two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh were shot dead in Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir. While one of them died on the spot, other one succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The terrorists asked their names before shooting them dead. This is an eerie reminder of Pahalgam terror attack where the victims were identified, with their religion in that case, and then shot dead.
Now reports have emerged that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Latif Bhat and his aide Waris Shah are likely behind the terror attack. Shah apparently provided logistical support and conducted recce before the attack. The two labourers were working at a brick kiln.
According to a preliminary investigation, a pistol was used in the attack, a trademark of hybrid terrorists. Hybrid terrorists are part of local civilian population who are then used to conduct such attacks. LeT’s offshoot The Resistance Front, which had initially claimed responsibility of the Pahalgam terror attack, is known for conducting such attacks.
This was the second targeted attack by terrorists in the last 10 days. Last week, a policeman was killed in a targeted attack in Anantnag.
With weeks long protests going on in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, looks like Pakistan and its terror proxies are trying to create unrest once again in Jammu & Kashmir to divert attention from its own troubles.
