Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has once again sparked a national conversation after saying that she was once a “moderate Hindu” but now wants to be awakened to her civilization identity. Her remarks have resonated with many as a growing number of Hindus are becoming more vocal about preserving their cultural and religious heritage.
Kangana said that for years she viewed her faith through a largely personal and moderate lens. However, changing social and political circumstances prompted her to study India’s history, traditions, and spiritual legacy more deeply. According to her, this journey has strengthened her resolve to embrace and openly express her Hindu identity rather than treating it as something to be kept private.
Aaj ek vichar nahi ek feeling share kar rahi hoon, aap bhi batana aapki kya feeling hai iss vishay ke baare mein 🙂 pic.twitter.com/kNCRUBVIru— Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) August 3, 2026
Her comments have drawn widespread reactions on social media, with supporters saying that they reflect the sentiments of millions of Hindus who feel increasingly connected to their roots. Many users said that there has been a broader cultural awakening in recent years, driven by renewed interest in ancient temples, festivals, Indian philosophy, and civilizational history. They believe this shift represents cultural confidence rather than hostility towards other communities.
Kangana has consistently maintained that embracing one’s faith and culture should not be viewed as controversial. She has frequently spoken about Sanatan Dharma, Indian traditions, and the importance of preserving the country’s civilizational heritage.
Kangana has also said that why can’t she convert from a party girl to a Sanatani, nobody has provided an answer.
