On Wednesday, April 22 (local time), US President Donald Trump reposted American political commentator and radio host Michael Savage’s podcast, where he referred to India, China and other nations as “hell-holes”. In his racist rant calling for changes in the United States’ birthright citizenship law, Savage alleged that people from the two Asian nations come to the US to drop a baby in the ninth month, and the law turns them into instant US citizens.
However, after the backlash, Trump backtracked and called India a great friend. Christopher Elms, spokesperson for the US Embassy in New Delhi, relayed that the Republican leader spoke warmly of India, calling it a great nation and noting that he shares a personal friendship with its leader.
Notably, on US president Donald Trump’s social media post mentioning India and China as ‘hellhole’, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen some reports. That’s where I leave it.”

Notably in the post the President Trump hated, the letter said, “A baby here becomes an instant citizen, and then they bring in their entire family from China, or India, or some other hell-hole on the planet.”
The letter also described Indian and Chinese immigrants as gangsters with laptops who have stepped on our flag.
“They’ve done more damage to this nation than all the mafia families put together. In my unhumble opinion. Gangsters with laptops. They’ve robbed us blind, treated us like second-class citizens, let the trud world triumph, stepped on our flag, et cetera,” the letter further read.
Notably President Trump is stuck in an unwinnable war in Iran right now so he seems to be coming for his favourite whipping boys, legal immigrants to US, of which his wife is one.
