The world can relax, the most powerful person in the world, the American President Donald Trump has finally got a Peace Prize. Ever since his re-election as US President and returning to the White House in January 2025 , Donald Trump has been asking for a peace prize, voila, he finally got one.
For the last few months, Donald Trump had terrorised the world with tariffs and other shenanigans as he chased the Nobel Peace Prize which he eventually didn’t get. Therefore, the world is now breathing a sigh of relief as Trump has finally got a peace prize, even if it is not a Nobel.
During the draw for the Football World Cup, that will be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico, Donald Trump was the esteemed guest. Bizarrely, Trump was given a peace prize by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). This is the first time that such a prize has ever been awarded by FIFA. Apparently, they took note of Trump’s desperation for a peace prize and decided to massage his ego. Notably, Trump’s support is vital for the smooth conduct of the Football World Cup, the biggest sporting event in the world of sports. The event will be even bigger this time with the tournament expanding to 48 countries.
In the past few months, Donald Trump shared several times that he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. He falsely claimed several times that he caused ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Trump tried to take credit for settling several conflicts around the world, including one between Albania and Azerbaijan, who weren’t even at war.
However, the Nobel committee decided to give the peace prize to Venezuelan leader Maria Corina Machado. But unlike the Nobel committee, FIFA has to host their premier event in the USA, so they decided to bow down before Trump.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is apparently a very shrewd operator. He figured out that the best way to get full cooperation from Trump during the next summer’s tournament is to invent a peace award and give it to the US President.
The 2026 World Cup, the biggest ever with 48 teams, will take place in US, Canada, and Mexico during June-July 2026.
