He said the attack appeared like a conspiracy to disturb peace in the region. The attack followed after Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to PM Modi expressing her dissent over the appointment of an Interlocutor by the Centre on the Gorkhaland issue.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday, former Deputy NSA Pankaj Kumar Singh was appointed by the Home Ministry as an Interlocutor. This move aims to begin discussions with leaders of the Gorkha community and is a crucial attempt to respond to the enduring call for the creation of a separate Gorkhaland state. However, Mamata Banerjee wrote to Prime Minister Modi opposing this appointment in strong words, stating that she was shocked to learn about it.
Taking a dig at CM Mamata Banerjee, he said that such cowardly attacks only embolden their spirits.
