Several districts in Baluchistan are under the control of non-state armed groups, with no visible government or security forces. Hafiz Hamdullah, a JUI leader, questions who’s in charge, saying the CM’s claim of control is false

The situation is dire, with attacks and clashes reported, including a deputy commissioner taken hostile, and police officers killed. The Baloch Liberation Army’s “Hirof 2” operation is intensifying, with suicide attacks and clashes ongoing in various areas.

Videos on social media show attackers appearing to be Baloch separatists, but they haven’t officially claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The Baluchistan Liberation Army and other separatist groups have carried out similar attacks in the province.

Militants attacked several locations in Quetta, including Hazarganji, Khalid Shaheed police station, Saryab Road, Baluchistan civil secretariat and Imdad Chowk near Saleem Medical Complex. Banks and government buildings were also targeted, injuring several people.

Militants attacked security forces in various Baluchistan areas, including Noshki, Dalbandin, Dader, Quetta, Kalat, Mastung, and Pasni. Internet and mobile services are suspended, roads are blocked, and FC troops are deployed, making it hard to confirm casualties.

Sources claim 37 militants were killed in retaliatory operations. The military and militant claims couldn’t be verified. Baluchistan govt spokesperson Shahid Rind says over 70 militants killed in the past two days.

Security sources say militants attacked 12 locations in Baluchistan overnight, killing 10 security personnel and police. He says operations were conducted in various parts of Balochistan after militant attacks. The govt claims to have foiled the attacks. Earlier, the Pakistan military said it killed 41 suspected militants in operations in Harnai and Panjgur districts.

The military’s media wing ISPR said operations were conducted on Jan 29 based on intel. The killed militants allegedly belonged to India-backed groups “Fateh-ul-Khwarij” and “Fateh-ul-Hind”.

The Pakistan military often uses “Fateh-ul-Khwarij” for TTP militants and “Fateh-ul-Hind” for Baloch separatist groups.

TTP and Baloch separatists haven’t commented, and independent sources haven’t verified the military’s claim. India has repeatedly denied supporting militant groups in Pakistan.

Balochistan National Party leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal says the situation in the province is extremely concerning. He writes he’s never seen Baluchistan’s situation this bad in his life. Guess the Interior Minister’s got a lot on their plate right now.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal responds to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s “one SHO is enough” remark, asking where the SHO is now.
