A day after the bomb blast next to Red Fort Metro station in Delhi, more explosives have been seized from the neighbouring city of Faridabad. Notably, earlier, thousands of Kilograms of explosives were recovered by Jammu & Kashmir Police and Haryana STF from Faridabad.
Following the explosion in Delhi, more explosive material has been seized from Faridabad by the Police. The explosives were in 3 bags meant to look like firecrackers. The discovery was made in a house in Sector 56 of Faridabad as police continues to carry out raids across National Capital Region following the blast outside Red Fort in Delhi.
Notably, on the day of the blast outside the Red Fort, security agencies recovered 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, an AK-47, 20 timers, and multiple magazines from another location in Faridabad.
This points to a terror module operating out of Faridabad in Haryana that was planning to launch a major terror attack in the capital Delhi but their plan was foiled by the security agencies.
The recovery of explosives from Faridabad was made following the interrogation of Dr Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for putting up posters supporting the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit in Srinagar.
Following his interrogation, Al Falah hospital in Faridabad emerged as a key location where Dr Mujammil Shakeel was apparently involved in the terror plot. His residence was apparently used to store explosives for the planned terror attacks.
Following the discovery of explosives in Faridabad, Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta confirmed that said, “We have found a huge quantity of ammonium nitrate and 20 timers. A pistol, magazines, and a walkie-talkie have also been recovered. The newly seized powdery substance is being tested to determine its exact composition.”
