On November 10, a terror attack took place outside the Red Fort metro station in the national capital Delhi killing 13 people and injuring at least 20 others. The people involved in the blast were found to be doctors linked to the Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana.

Now, the Delhi Police has issued two summons to Al Falah University chairman Javed Ahmad Siddiqui in connection with the ongoing probe into the Faridabad terror module case. The University has also been booked in 2 separate cases of forgery and cheating.

The police authorities said that the summons were sent after investigators concluded that Al Falah university’s chairman Javed Ahmad Siddiqui’s statement was crucial for clarifying several inconsistencies. These inconsistencies have emerged about the functioning of the university and the activities of individuals associated with the institution.

Meanwhile, authorities are also investigating how Al Falah University acquired the land used for the institute’s expansion in 2014, and how the trust running it managed to get University status at that time.

Notably, the Delhi Police Crime Branch filed two FIRs against the university after the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) flagged major irregularities in its accreditation claims following the Red Fort blast.
