The valedictory ceremony for the 159th QFIC was conducted in Tambaram on 9th October 2025 with Air Marshal Tejbir Singh as the chief guest. Sqn Ldr Shivangi was the Rafale pilot the Pakistani forces claimed to have captured during the Operation Sindoor that India launched to destroy terror camps in Pakistan as well as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Pakistan as well as Pakistan friendly media such as Al Jazeera were busy spreading fake news regarding her capture on 11 May, 2025.

Pakistani media and social media users spread rumours that Sqn Ldr Singh, India’s first woman to fly the Rafale was in Pakistan custody. It was reported that she was captured after her jet was shot down near Sialkot.
However, as it is clear from the image above, Sqr Ldr Shivangi is very much in India.
