Voting for the highly important Bihar assembly election is set to take place on November and November 11, with results to be announced on November 14. The contest is between the NDA alliance and the opposition mahagathbandhan. With final nomination filing date set of October 17, the Bharatiya Janta Party has announced its first list of candidates on Tuesday, October 14.
The first list has the names of 71 candidates, including that of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Choudhary, who will contest the Tarapur Assembly seat, is being pitched a potential Chief Minister face if NDA comes to power with full majority.

The list also includes name of the other deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha, who will contest from Lakhisarai.
Among other prominent names, senior party leader Ram Kripal Yadav will contest from Danapur, Prem Kumar from Gaya, former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad from Katihar, Alok Ranjan Jha from Saharsa, and Mangal Pandey from Siwan.
While the opposition mahagathbandhan is still unable to decide its seat sharing formula and struggling to finalise the candidates, NDA has made the first move by announcing its candidates for 71 seats.
