On November 10, a deadly blast rocked the national capital Delhi that killed 13 people and injured several others. Following the investigations, links to Al Falah University in neighbouring Faridabad were found. Now reports have emerged linking the local operatives to “foreign handlers” in Afghanistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Notably, the former ‘Prime Minister’ of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir has already taken credit for the blast that took place outside Red Fort metro station.
As per an Indian Express report, bank accounts amounting to over Rs 2 lakh have been frozen and two foreign handlers have been identified that ran this network of terrorists. The two foreign handlers have been identified as Faisal Ishfaq Bhat and Dr Ukasha, operating currently from PoK and Afghanistan respectively. A third handler of the terror module Hashim has also been identified but it is not yet clear where is he operating from.
Notably, the blast at the Red Fort took place shortly after the security forces foiled a major plan of the terrorists. Nearly 3,000 Kg of explosives was seized in raids from Faridabad showing that the plan of the terrorists was much bigger but alert authorities foiled that.
The unraveling of the terror plot started with the arrest of 3 people, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Arif Nisar and Maqsood Ahmad Dar, for putting up posters in Kashmir with Jihadi terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad insignia. All of them were active on a Telegram group that was being operated from Pakistan.
A Muslim cleric Maulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay was later arrested in the case from Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir, and that transformed the entire case. He was a common link between the arrested trio and his interrogation led authorities to Faridabad where the explosives were found. Doctors linked to Al Falah University in Faridabad were found involved in the terror plot and the University is now under investigation for crimes ranging from terror plots to financial crimes.
Notably, on November 10, at 6:48 pm, an i20 car headed into heavy traffic outside the Red Fort, and exploded killing 13 people. The explosive device contained ammonium nitrate (seized during Faridabad raids), potassium compounds, and Triacetone triperoxide.
With links of doctors emerging in the terror attack, this is now being referred to as “white collar terror module”.
