Saudi Arabia: Dozens of Indian Umrah pilgrims feared dead in bus-tanker collision near Medina

In a tragic incident, dozens of Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared to have died in an accident in Medina. The bus carrying the pilgrims crashed into a diesel tanker resulting in the tragedy.

The pilgrims, mostly from Hyderabad, were traveling from Mecca to Madinah when their bus collided with a diesel tanker near Mufrihat in Saudi Arabia on Monday, November 17.

The Consulate General of India in Jeddah posted on X that a 24×7 control room has been set up by the Consulate General.

The CGI also shared the helpline numbers where people can reach for help.

The Telangana state government is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Saudi Embassy to assist affected families. A control room has also been set up at the Telangana Secretariat, with helplines 79979 59754 and 99129 19545 for relatives seeking information.
