US President Donald Trump has launched an unprecedented attack on Pope Leo XIV calling him weak and terrible for US foreign policy. President Trump said he didn’t think the US-born leader of the Catholic church was doing a very good job and that he was a very liberal person. The US President also said that the Pope should stop catering to the Radical Left.

Notably, Pope Leo is the first Pope of the Catholic Church born in the United States.

After attacking the Pope, Trump also shared an image of him as Jesus Christ on his Truth Social platform.

Earlier, Donald Trump said, “I’m not a big fan of Pope Leo. He’s a very liberal person, and he’s a man that doesn’t believe in stopping crime”. Trump was talking to the reporters after landing at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

US President’s comments came after Pope Leo suggested that a delusion of omnipotence was fueling the US-Israel war in Iran. The Pope further said, “Even the holy Name of God, the God of life, is being dragged into discourses of death.”

“Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life,” he added.

Notably, these comments from the Pope came while ceasefire negotiations were going on between US and Iran in Pakistan. The ceasefire negotiations that amounted to nothing and tensions remain high in West Asia.

While it is not uncommon for US Presidents and the head of the Catholic Church to disagree on issues, this is a rare occasion when a US President (Trump) has called out the Pope so openly. And that too when the Pope didn’t openly mention the US war with Iran and was talking in general terms about peace in the world.
