US President Donald Trump to file $15 Billion defamation lawsuit against New York Times, calls it most degenerate newspaper

US President Donald Trump

On Monday, September 15, United States President shared that he is suing New York Times newspaper for $15 Billion for defamation and libel. Trump’s statement came just days after the newspaper released articles on his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The US President called New York Times a virtual mouthpiece for the radical left Democrat Party, and of waging a decades-long campaign of lies against him.

Notably, New York Times had published a story about Jeffrey Epstein’s birthday book which featured a suggestive drawing of a female body from the current US President.

Trump denied that he had given that drawing to Epstein for his birthday, and the poem attached to that.

The US President accused the newspaper of lying about him, his family and businesses, as well as Republican-led movements and ideologies such as the America First Movement, and Make America Great Again.

He had threatened to sue New York Times immediately after the story about Epstein came out. However, after getting no response to his threats from the paper, the US President is apparently going ahead with the massive $15 Billion lawsuit.

In his post on social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Today, I have the Great Honour of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the History of our Country, becoming a virtual “mouthpiece” for the Radical Left Democrat Party.”

Donald Trump further added, “I am PROUD to hold this once respected “rag” responsible, as we are doing with the Fake News Networks such as our successful litigation against George Slopadopoulos/ABC/Disney, and 60 Minutes/CBS/Paramount, who knew that they were falsely “smearing” me through a highly sophisticated system of document and visual alteration, which was, in effect, a malicious form of defamation, and thus, settled for record amounts.”

The newspaper is yet to respond to Donald Trump’s comments, and haven’t retracted their Epstein story either.

Notably disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was a child sex offender who allegedly killed himself while in prison.
