Bihar election results have absolutely stunned Rashtriya Janata Dal, the party founded by Lalu Prasad Yadav was absolutely routed as the NDA alliance swept the state. Still reeling from that setback, the party has suffered another blow. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter and Tejashwi Yadav’s sister Rohini Acharya has shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she is quitting politics, and is disowning her family.
In her post, Rohini Acharya wrote, “I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family”. She further added that Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked her to do.
I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family …

This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …nd I’m taking all the blame’s
Sanjay Yadav is the Rajya Sabha MP from RJD and is considered one of the most trusted aides of Tejashwi Yadav. Rameez is reportedly Tejashwi’s old friend from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.
This announcement from Rohini Acharya came just days after RJD suffered a drubbing in the Bihar assembly elections. RJD was limited to just 25 seats as BJP-led NDA alliance wept to victory winning 202 seats in the 243 seats assembly.
Notably, this is not the first time that a family dispute from Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family has come out in public. Tejashwi Yadav’s elder brother Tej Pratap was removed from the party and the Lalu family disassociated with him. Tej Pratap fought Bihar elections separately after his own party Janshakti Janata Dal, but failed to win any seat during the assembly elections.
