Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan on Friday won the Internet with his hilarious take on ex-Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar ahead of Asia Cup finals to be held on Sunday, 28th September, 2025.

Times of India’s sports X account posted how Pakistan might have a chance at winning the Asia Cup finals against India if the neighbouring country gets Abhishek Bachchan out early on. They were quoting former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar who had mistakenly taken Abhishek Bachchan’s name.
Shoaib Akhtar bhai kaunsa le rahe hai samjh nhi aa raha hai

If Pakistan gets Abhishek Bachchan out early
Abhishek Sharma itna deeply ghus gaya hai dimag me inke ki hil gaye hai..#INDvsPAK https://t.co/qLpWIplJT5 pic.twitter.com/IXwqr5ym8M
However, as clarified by Akhtar later, he meant to say Abhishek Sharma, who has been winning hearts in the series recently.
But the error caught the eye of Abhishek Bachchan, the Hindi film actor who joked how Pakistan wouldn’t even manage to get him out early on, even though he is not that good at playing cricket.
His tweet left netizens amused.
@juniorbachchan just clean bowled Shoaib Akhtar without even stepping on the pitch. He doesn’t need to play cricket… his tweets are enough to hit sixes.

Bhai ek hi tournament mein 2 baar India se haar chuke ho, to dimag aur jubaan ka talmel bhi gadbad ho gaya hai! 🧠💬
What a JOKE! 🤣
Netizens were not too kind to Pakistani cricket team, which, quite frankly deserves the treatment it gets.
Pakistan has lost both the matches to India which it played. Fans are expecting India’s neighbour to face a humiliating defeat even in the finals. And while many liberals often say sports should be independent of politics, the Pakistani players have taken the Asia Cup as an opportunity to mock India over Operation Sindoor, a military action India carried out following Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 Hindus dead. The terrorists, nurtured and supported by Pakistan, killed those innocent civilians by identifying them by their religion.
