Siddaramaiah is repeatedly promoting Gandhi Family’s interests in Wayanad, but why at Karnataka’s costs?

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is doing this repeatedly, and it can no longer be a coincidence. Promoting Priyanka Vadra’s interest in Wayand, even if it comes at the cost of Kannidigas. The Pamphlet had earlier reported four instances of how the Karnataka CM influenced his governance to please the Kerala lobby. Yet again, the tourism department in Karnataka is busy promoting Wayanad as a tourist destination.

A post shared on October 28 by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation official account on X, advertising a two-night, three-day tour package to Wayanad has caused a furore. “What has Karnataka tourism to do with a tourism spot in Kerala”, is the question being asked by Kannidigas.

But then everyone knows Priyanka Gandhi Vadra represents Kerala’s Wayanad Lok Sabha in parliament & looking after her interests is a priority for Siddaramaiah’s government, particularly when his rival in the party DK Shivakumar, awaits a change of guard in the post Nov 1.

But then once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, thrice a pattern. But now fourth & fifth? Yes, Wayanad is influencing governance in Karnataka.

Just some time back, the Karnataka’s urea was being sent to Kerala. Why such benevolence?  Even during the catastrophic Wayanad landslides, the Karnataka government promised to construct 100 houses for Wayanad landslide victims. One also very well remembers how Nandini delayed its dosa batter launch in aid of a Kerala businessman. Even when Rahul Gandhi represented Wayanad, Karnataka had announced ex gratia for the elephant attack victim in Wayanad.

How the Karnataka Congress government protected Kerala’s interests

This is how the Karnataka Cong government is so benevolent to Left-ruled Kerala. Is it due to the newfound bastion of Gandhis in Wayanad?

Just a week back, the Karnataka Congress government was making huge claims that they were not being given their allocated Urea by the BJP-ruled Centre & the farmers in the state were the ultimate sufferers as the ongoing Kharif cropping was getting disrupted as a result.

But then there is more to this than what meets the eye. It is the illegal transport of urea from Karnataka to Kerala. A shocking incident of seizure of urea being smuggled from Karnataka to Kerala has been revealed. The incident took place at the Moolehole checkpost located within the Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

A Kerala-registered truck had approximately 300 bags of urea fertiliser, said to be around a few tonnes, which was being transported from Karnataka to Kerala without proper authorisation, when it was confronted. But then, how come Karnataka’s urea is being sent to Kerala. And what is the Kerala connection with Karnataka?

One very well remembers, how when Rahul Gandhi represented Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala,    the Karnataka government went out of the way to announce ex gratia for the elephant attack victim in Wayanad. [pic1]Though this is never done in usual practice that a victim of a man-animal conflict in one state is compensated by another state. But Siddramaiah wanted to please his boss Rahul.

And these are not isolated incidents. The third instance of Wayanad connection is how Karnataka milk brand Nandini delayed the launch of its dosa batter only to benefit a businessman from a minority com munity in Kerala[ye small and big box format mein chala dena], whose company’s dosa batter had a huge market in Karnataka and his business was bound to be affected due to Nandini’s dosa batter launch.

Fourth instance is the 2024 Wayanad landslides. The Congress Karnataka government pledged to construct as many as 100 houses in Wayanad and interestingly, when communists ruled Kerala took some time to draw out the technicalities for construction. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah straightly accused the  Kerala government of not cooperating.

The Karnataka tourism department now promoting Wayanad, is another addition to the same efforts. But then why this desperation? Is it for safeguarding the Gandhi family new found bastion of Wayanad?
