Red Fort blast: 4 people detained after the explosion in Delhi that killed 9 people

Red Fort blast

On the evening of Monday, November 10, a blast outside Red Fort rocked Indian capital of Delhi resulting in 9 deaths and leaving several injured. Following the blast, Delhi Police has detained 4 suspects in the case. Notably, the explosion took place on the same day when thousands of KGs of explosives were recovered by security forces in raids in Faridabad.

Notably, the car in which the explosion took place was owned by a doctor from south Kashmir’s Pulwama who was a part of the module busted by security forces, as per reports.

Following the explosion, Delhi Police conducted searches in Paharganj and Dariyaganj areas of Delhi through the night, and detained 4 suspects.

Following the blast, Delhi Police has invoked sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), covering acts of terrorism. They have also added sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act, along with charges of murder and attempt to murder.

No organisation has taken responsibility for the terror attack yet but the attack seems to be part of the terror module that has been busted in India recently.

Notably, Dr Mujammil Shakeel and Dr Adil Rather were arrested in a joint operation by Jammu & Kashmir Police and Haryana Police from Faridabad and 2,900 Kgs of explosives were seized after the raids.

Reportedly, the car in question moved all around Delhi yesterday before reaching Red Fort and then the terrorists decided that as the location of the attack.
